the body knows what it requires,
listen to it - not the cravings of
the mind, but the needs of the body,
let it guide you into wellbeing.
We are now well into the Fall season, the daylight is significantly decreasing as we approach the Winter Solstice, much of the colorful leaves have dropped to the ground, and there is more of a chill in the air here in the PNW.
What changes in are noticing in yourself these days? Are you experiencing a shift in your personal rhythm? Are your needs for nourishment, physical activity, self-care and wellness transitioning with the season?
Over the past few weeks I have certainly been feeling the call to slow down and create more space in my life for inner reflection and deep listening to my body, mind, heart and soul. For example, I’m finding myself wanting more warming, cooked food and beverages, yoga, soaking in the bath, nature walks, and quiet time to be. These are a few ways I am being true to my energy level, inner balance and overall health.
While I am feeling this call, and doing my best to honor what my whole self is in need of, I have also been reminded that it isn’t necessarily easy to honor the pull to slow down in the midst of the hustle and bustle of the world today. Sometimes going against the grain of what everyone else is doing, and the pressures and expectations we place on ourselves is a real struggle, especially if we are looking outside ourselves.
There’s certainly a lot more to say about that, but for now, please know if your inner guidance is asking you to listen, whether it’s through a message in your body, emotions, energy level, a strong pull in your heart, your dreams, or a sign in nature, trust there’s a reason for that. As you explore the message, you may find you gain a clearer sense of what forms of nourishment and lifestyle practices will best support your health and well-being with each season. It’s not unusual that the messages will persist and even get louder if we ignore them, oftentimes in the form of an injury, tension/pain in the body, dis-ease, digestive complaints, insomnia or fatigue. Trust your instincts, heed the call, and get support if you need it.
If you are feeling imbalanced or disconnected from your personal rhythm I encourage you to take some quiet time to be still, breathe, relax your body and allow your inherent wisdom to show you the way. This is one simple way to create space to deeply listen to your true self.
As always, I'm here to support your journey of whole being health and wellness, so if you are interested in more specific guidance around your personal concerns, please get in touch and let's discuss the optimal path of action for you.
I would love to hear from you and how you are embracing the shift in season and ways of being true to your whole self. Wishing you light and love on your path.
