My approach focuses on nourishing the systems of the body, mind, heart and spirit to create optimal conditions for restoring energy and enjoying better health. I believe that physical, emotional, mental and spiritual imbalances are interrelated and the most effective way to restore health and vitality is to attend to the WHOLE person.
My education and professional experience has equipped me with extensive knowledge in therapeutic massage, holistic nutrition, health coaching, quantum healing and prevention. Drawing on my expertise, I work with clients like you to help make lifestyle changes and choose health-promoting ways that produce real and lasting results. You will develop a deeper understanding of food and lifestyle choices that work best for you, improving your energy, balance, health, and happiness.
As a Certified Food & Spirit Practitioner, the Seven Systems of Health by Food & Spirit™ is at the heart of my work. The chart below provides an overview of the integrative and holistic approach I bring to my practice.
I graduated from the State University of New York at Albany in 2001 with a BA in Psychology. My interest in mental and emotional health evolved into a deep curiosity of the mind-body connection, which lead me to my massage training at Brenneke School of Massage in Seattle. The massage profession has given me so much insight into the great need for stress relief and self care in our society. Many people are living with chronic pain, chronic disease, unhealthy weight, addictions, cravings, fatigue, digestive and sleep disorders and the list goes on, all of which add to the stress a person experiences, myself included. While the benefits of massage therapy are immense, I developed a strong desire to serve others in ways beyond massage therapy in order to provide another layer of support to their health and healing. My interest in holistic health evolved as I discovered the power of nutrition and a nourishing lifestyle for my own health. I have explored a variety of healing modalities to address my adrenal fatigue, insomnia, digestive issues and manage my stress, and now I want to support others experiencing similar issues.
In 2012, I enrolled in the Health Coaching Program at The Institute for Integrative Nutrition and most recently the Certified Food & Spirit Practitioner Program (2014) at Food & Spirit with Dr. Deanna Minich. My training with IIN and Food & Spirit provided the resources and training necessary to educate and support my clients in achieving mind, body and spirit health through a multidimensional approach to health through nutrition and lifestyle.
I received my 1,000+ hour massage therapy education from Brenneke School of Massage in Seattle, and graduated in November of 2005. My massage therapy training contributed to a deep understanding of the body and mind connection. The foundation of my training includes: anatomy & physiology, kinesiology, Swedish massage, deep tissue techniques, myofascial release, sports massage, pregnancy massage, medical massage, compassionate presence techniques, healthy communication skills, working with emotional memory in the body, stress reduction techniques and the art of intuitive listening.
I consider myself a lifelong learner; I am continuously amazed by the miracle of the body and ways of healing through bodywork and energetic healing.
